What better way to send off your friend than firing his ashes out of a cannon perched on top of a 153-foot tower?
With Jonny Depp recently filing a lawsuit against his ex-management, details of his outlandish spending habits have emerged, including the $ 3 million (£2.4 million) he shelled out to honour the writer Hunter S. Thompson’s last wish: to be blown out of a cannon.
As Depp explained back in 2005: “All I’m doing is trying to make sure his last wish comes true, I just want to send my pal out the way he wants to go out”.
Jonny Depp’s ex-managers, The Management Group, claim in a counter-suit that instead of listening to warnings about living beyond his means, Depp “often responded by rebuking and cursing his business managers for issuing such warnings and advice, while increasing his extravagant lifestyle and spending, and demanding that his business managers find some way to pay for it all”.
Read on for details of Depp’s alleged extravagant spending, and the extraordinary funeral service for Hunter S. Thomspon.
