If you’ve never heard of catfishing, then please drop whatever you’re doing and go watch Nev Schulman’s 2010 documentary Catfish. In it, Nev’s online relationship takes a turn for the weird when he discovers the true identity of the woman he believes he’s falling in love with.
I won’t spoil it for you, but believe me when I say that it’s an incredibly enlightening introduction to the world of deceit and impersonation that is social media. It’s a world that model Jessica Hunt recently fell headfirst into, after the following photo was stolen by a particularly skilled catfisher.
Jessica Hunt has 80,000 followers on Instagram, so it makes sense that someone might try and pass off one of her photos as their own. What is more incredible, however, is that someone actually went to the bother of Photoshopping what I’m presuming is their own face over the top of Jessica’s body.
